Assuming that all the studios take the rest of the year off, as they should, this is likely the last Renewals and Cancellations of the season. What do we have in store?

First up, FX is ending What We Do on the Shadows after its upcoming sixth season. It’s time. Better still, the series writers know well ahead of time so they can prepare knowing that the next season will be its last. It had begun to wear a little thin, but it will be missed all the same.

My Life with the Walter Boys has been the top show on Netflix for the last couple of weeks, and I had no idea what it was until my 11-year-old daughter said she was watching it, which is when I understood that, like Ginny and Georgia, it’s a show for teens and tweens and a very popular one, at that. It has already been renewed for a second season.

Speaking of shows for the youths, I tried a couple of times to get into The Buccaneers on Apple TV+ but eventually had to concede that it’s just not for me even though I’m very happy there’s an Edith Wharton adaptation with modern sensibilities on the television. I’m happier still that it will get a second season. I will celebrate by watching 12 seasons of Bosch like the middle-aged Dad I am.

Elsewhere on Apple TV+, they’ve also picked up another season of Platonic, which I loved. I’m not sure the premise can sustain another season, but I am all too willing to give it a shot for eight more episodes of Rose Byrne.

Warrior has been nixed by Max after three seasons. That’s the bad news. The consolation is that the first three seasons have been licensed to Netflix, so it will probably find a much larger audience.

I know that MGM’s Beacon 23 stars Lena Headey and Stephan James, but that’s about all I know. I was considering making it a vacation week binge at the end of the month, but a commenter said that — after a strong start — it was ultimately disappointing. If I hear otherwise, I may give it a shot, anyway, as it has been renewed for a second season. If so, I can watch it along with From if I subscribe to MGM for a month.
