'Psych' Is Back With A Full-Length Movie. Wait, When Did 'Psych' Leave?

YOU GUYS, Psych IS BACK. At least back for one full-length movie this December. Shawn, Gus, and crew will be given a last chance to tie up all their loose ends. Specifically, when exactly did Psych leave us? See, I love Psych. Love it. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen every episode. I say pretty sure (and here’s the real thrust of the article) because I have literally no concrete memory of Psych happening.

I mean, I know it’s a show that exists and that I enjoy watching it. And when I catch an episode late at night on Ion(? (Icon?)) I sometimes recognize the plot. But mostly Psych is a nebulous fragment of moments. There was a pineapple? And a blueberry? Shawn had a super strained, nearly hostile relationship with his father, but that all got softened right after the pilot? Holy shit, did Shawn and Jules break up?

Luckily for me, Psych also seems to know what its sweet spot is: a vague collection of callbacks and catchphrases elevated by the delightful chemistry of its two leads.

Bless you, Psych. I don’t remember when you came into my life, but I also can’t remember a time without you there. May you continue in my life as an ever-present thing-I-forget-about-as-soon-as-you’re-not-directly-in-front-of-me for all eternity.
