On the heels of its frightfully festive holiday episode, Netflix has announced that it’s picking up two more seasons of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Eighteen more episodes of the series, comprising Parts 3 and 4, will go into production sometime next year. Of course, we still have to get through the rest of Part Two, which will drop on April 5!
CAoS follows Sabrina, a half-mortal/ half-witch who struggles to reconcile her dual nature and deal with whatever mysterious plans have the Dark Lord so hellbent on getting possession over her soul. Supernatural trials and teenage tribulations combine to make life difficult for Sabrina, her family, her friends, and the rest of the timeless town of Greendale. Led by star Kiernan Shipka, the returning cast includes Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson and Gavin Leatherwood (an actor who continues to have the best name I’ve ever heard). But Netflix has also revealed a few new cast members arriving for the next two seasons, and they may provide a hint as to where the story will be going from here…
Jedidiah Goodacre will be joining the series as Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde’s literary beauty, and Buffy’s Alexis Denisof will star as Mary Wardwell’s boyfriend, Adam Masters. Now, I thought Wardwell was gunning to rule hell alongside the Dark Lord himself, so does that make Adam Masters Satan? But then what does that make Gavin Leatherwood’s Nicholas Scratch? Because I was sure HE was Satan in disguise. Maybe they’re both Satan… or maybe Wardwell is gonna start slumming it with a mortal? I mean, I’d watch that. Michelle Gomez can GET IT.
And while this likely has no bearing on the upcoming seasons of CAoS, here’s a gif of Chance Perdomo doing a backflip because HOT DAMN, COUSIN AMBROSE!
He can light my Yule Log any day.
