Want a throwback to the PC games that used to terrify us with pixelated monsters and keyboard controls? Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet has got you covered. The critically-heralded Apple TV+ series has offered up an online demo of their in-show game, “Dark Quiet Death.” Named for season one’s outstanding bottle episode, the first-person non-shooter allows players to enter a creepy castle made up of dark passages and littered with merciless monsters. You can’t shoot them. The best you can do is scare them away with your flashlight. But be warned: your flashlight’s batteries will die fast. And then you will follow.

Or as the game’s site puts it:

In Dark Quiet Death, the monsters are a metaphor for fear and mortality. There is no winning. There is no glorious ending. Your goal is to survive as long as you can.

Here’s a preview of the game, courtesy of Katie McElhenney, writer of the episode “Dark Quiet Death,” and sister to its director Rob McElhenney (A.K.A. Mac from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.)
