In the middle seasons of American Horror Story’s 9-season run, I rarely made it to the end. But that is so 2015-2017. Now? I suffer until the bitter, disappointing finale every season. In a way, I’m punishing myself in a futile effort to steer me clear of subsequent seasons of AHS. If I hate it enough, and if I know that I’m going to be disappointed by it every single year, eventually I will stop, right?

Well, not this year. Why? In addition to bringing back Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters — who took the season off for AHS: 1984 — Ryan Murphy has invited back a number of other series regulars: Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, and Angelica Ross.

But there’s also a new cast member in the 10th season of FX’s most popular series: Macaulay Culkin.

Culkin — whose brother Kieran is killing it on Succession — largely retired from acting in 1995 after Ri¢hie Ri¢h, although he pops up every once in a while on a TV show, a movie, or a podcast (I’ve heard him on a number of podcasts, and he’s a good guest). He’s done voice work for Robot Chicken, and he’s apparently made appearances in a couple of other TV series (Kings, The Jim Gaffigan Show), but this is Culkin’s first real extended work on episodic television.

Murphy made the announcement on Instagram today.

Among those Murphy regulars that are missing are Emma Roberts, Jessica Lange, and Cody Fern (and Stevie Nicks), although that obviously doesn’t mean they won’t make appearances. The 10th Season of AHS is likely to debut in the fall. The series has been renewed through its 13th season. No official word on what season 10 is about, although the rumor is that it’s about America’s obsession with urban legends.
