Jimmy Kimmel Turns Down Marjorie Taylor Greene

There are hordes of Republicans whose mission in Congress is to make the Government as ineffectual as possible. They don’t hide it. Their campaigns are filled with calls to “drain the swamp” and “make America great again,” while their time in office is spent collecting sound bites and cash. They vote against common sense legislation and mock our Congressional system (not a difficult task, but still). Yes, these people claim to fight for the soul of America while selling their souls for fifteen seconds in front of cameras.

Take Marjorie Taylor Green (Please! nailed it). MTG is one of the loudest and proudest obstacles to a functioning government. Her tactics are ugly and mean-spirited. She lies and spouts nonsense conspiracy theories with the casualness of someone ordering a BBQ chicken sandwich at Friendly’s. The Congresswoman has zero shame. That’s why it should be no surprise that she’s trying to worm her way onto Jimmy Kimmel: Live.

Jimmy Kimmel is part of the “Hollyweird Elite.” You’ve heard of them. They are a cabal of child-eating, pizza-shop-owning lizard people who hate Democracy and want to destroy America. If you have not heard any of these details, congrats, you live a nice life, free of Qanon-style rantings and ravings. MTG has given Kimmel and his ilk all manner of nonsensical nom de plume. Why would she venture to Los Angeles to be seated next to the former Man Show host? Simple. She has a book coming out.

Of all the hosts to try and use to push her mad manifesto, Kimmel makes sense. It’s not that he supports people like Greene. He’s just platformed them in the past. Spoiler alert: his attempt to reach across the aisle to a hateful person who cannot be taken seriously accomplished nothing. It wasn’t even a fun interview. Luckily, Kimmel has seemingly learned his lesson. That being said, maybe if Marge had been kinder to Kimmel, she would have gotten a shot.

Kimmel made the right choice here. There’s no need to give MTG air time. If she didn’t have a book coming out — which is a flop, by the way — it would still be a mistake. She is a deeply unserious person who doesn’t deserve a larger audience to spread fairytale-esque falsities. She has the Congressional floor for that.
