The Emmy nominations are out today, and I spent a good half hour raising hell over Interview with the Vampire not being nominated before one of my more level-headed colleagues brought up the fact that it was likely a matter of eligibility rather than a matter of taste—although my blood still runs hot when I think of the injustice done to Better Call Saul. I double checked and sure enough, Interview missed the qualifying date by mere weeks. If you’ve seen that magnificent, gut-wrenching finale, you’ll know that Jacob Anderson deserves a nomination for that mock stutter alone (fans will know exactly the line of which I speak).

I’m avoiding spoilers for now for one major reason, specifically that for all the people who either can’t or simply refuse to get an AMC+ subscription, you’ll now have the chance to experience this brilliant show yourself. It’s officially been announced that beginning August 19th, a number of AMC offerings will be available on Netflix:

Only season one of Interview will be available, so viewers will either have to subscribe to AMC+ to see the outstanding second season or wait a good year or more for the newest season to also land on Netflix. I may be disappointed that the cast and crew of Interview won’t be able to have awards recognition until next year, but the knowledge that this superb horror drama will be able to expand its viewer base alleviates the pain a bit. Unfortunately, it means more people will also be exposed to the utterly dreadful Mayfair Witches. Can’t win them all, I guess.
