Production on TV and movies has been shut down for a little over a month now, and I expect it will remain shuttered for at least another month if not several more, so I feel like there’s going to be a gap at some point in which we start to run out of television options.

I talked to Dan — who works in the industry — about that this week on the Podjba podcasts, and he seems to believe that the streaming networks probably have a good amount of content in the pipeline already. However, we’ve lost the final few episodes on several network television seasons, but the writers’ rooms for most of those fall network shows — your This Is Us or your Superstore — wouldn’t start until June anyway, and they can probably crack a few scripts virtually, so as long as production can mount again by late August/September, we can still have a fall network television season.

Personally, I have one thought and one concern when it comes to restarting: 1) There’s no reason Survivor can’t do a season exclusively with contestants who have antibodies! You can test the cast and crew, and then isolate and quarantine them on an island for 39 days! We need Survivor, damnit! Two: The final season of Better Call Saul cannot resume production until there is a vaccine because Jonathan Banks must be protected at all costs.

However, none of this has much to do with what we’re introducing here, which is the teaser trailer for HBO’s Perry Mason reboot, starring Matthew Rhys.

The eight-episode limited series also stars John Lithgow, Shea Whigham, Tatiana Maslany, Juliet Rylance, and Matt Frewer. It will debut sometime this year. You may now proceed to your bunks.
