It’s a great day for Oscar Isaac fans. The beloved actor is reportedly in negotiations to star as the titular character in Marvel’s Disney+ series Moon Knight. The show was announced last year and has had very little forward movement since then. Until now.

For those who aren’t very aware of who exactly Moon Knight is, the character is most often compared with Batman. Both are millionaires and have a penchant for detective work (though that’s largely where the similarities end). Unlike the Avengers and other heroes that the MCU has introduced to the mainstream over the years, Moon Knight (aka Marc Spector) is a lot darker of a character and has no problem getting his hands dirty.

Then, there are his powers: super strength, endurance, martial arts and combat skills (thanks to his being a former U.S. Marine and mercenary). The guy’s name is Moon Knight, so of course his powers are reliant on the lunar cycle. A full moon means he’s at his most powerful.

Isaac (who will next star in the now-delayed Dune) being in negotiations to play Moon Knight is great. He’s a talented actor and the thirst for this man on Twitter is constant. The only downside here is that Moon Knight’s face is covered and I don’t want the Disney+ series to rob us all of seeing Isaac’s face. How tragic would that be?

It’s worth noting that Moon Knight is also Jewish, while Isaac is not. This has been a problem with casting before. When Ruby Rose was cast as Batwoman, fans were annoyed because Rose wasn’t Jewish, though Kate Kane was. The call, as always, for proper representation persists.
