The COVID-19 vaccine is being rolled out slowly but surely. A lot of people have had to wait their turn while essential workers and people with pre-existing conditions are, rightfully, vaccinated first. If you’re someone like Meghan McCain, you complain that you haven’t been vaccinated yet. Gross. But if you’re someone like, say, Conan O’Brien, you accept that it will be quite some time before you receive a dose.

Back from a short hiatus, Conan quickly began lamenting the ongoing nature of the pandemic (like most of us). He then began chatting with Andy Richter about when they will receive the vaccine. “I’m scheduled to get my vaccine in three years.”

One of my favorite things about Conan has always been his self-deprecating humor and man oh man does this fall into that category. He and Andy are quick to point out that they are far from essential workers. Which is correct. There’s a wonderful and refreshing honesty to what they’re saying. And then they take it a step further.

I didn’t go in with this particular intention but, Conan - 1, Meaghan McCain - 0? Is that the score in the current “Talk Show Host Vaccine Challenge”? If so, it would certainly make Mike Redmond happy.
