Oooooee, do I love it when my worlds collide. I love baseball. I love Conan O’Brien. And on the newest episode of Conan, those two loves did meet!
If you haven’t heard, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series on Tuesday night (yay). However, one of the players on the team, Justin Turner, went back out onto the field to celebrate, often mask-less, despite being pulled from the game for testing positive for coronavirus (booo).
Now, I’m not here to say that Justin Turner should have stayed in the back instead of possibly infecting his fellow teammates and their families (even though he absolutely f***ing should have because to do anything else would be incredibly selfish). Instead, I’m here to give Conan props for pointing out something puzzling: How did Turner get COVID in the first place?
MLB players have been living in a bubble for months. While there were some outbreaks early on, things have run relatively smoothly for over a month. So what happened?! Conan O’Brien has the answer, thanks to the LA Dodgers’ Cough Cam.
OK, the Cough Cam isn’t a real thing, but… this doesn’t make the Dodgers look great. You know what does look great?! Conan’s rugged jacket and t-shirt look!
I don’t know if it’s the long hair on top of it but he looks magnificent! That’s one tall, red-headed man I’m not worried about. Anyway… where was I? Oh, right, booooo, Justin Turner. Booo.
