It seems like only yesterday that the internet lost its collective sanity over the news that Ruby Rose would be playing Batwoman in the next annual Arrowverse crossover event on The CW. But hey! That crossover is almost here! Will Twitter survive?

The three-night event starts this Sunday at 8pm, and it’s called “Elseworlds” — which is the name of the imprint DC used for stories from the multiverse that are outside the main comics continuity, but here seems to be code for “Let’s take your shows and mix ‘em up!” Barry becomes the Green Arrow, and Oliver becomes The Flash, and that could literally be all that happens in this event and I wouldn’t care. The comedic potential is priceless. But naturally that isn’t all that happens. The pair team up with Supergirl and head to Gotham City to track down the culprit behind their body swap: a man named John Deegan (Lost’s Jeremy Davies), who can rewrite reality. Also Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) shows up in a black suit, and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) is there, and LaMonica Garrett guest stars as “The Monitor” — take a look!

According to the episode synopses, Arkham Asylum figures into the story as well… and that sure does sound like a Joker-esque giggle in that second trailer. Needless to say, I’m super curious about the Arrowverse’s take on all things Gotham. But I’m still mostly here to see Grant Gustin act shocked that he has Ollie’s abs now.

MOVING ON! Netflix released a trailer for the upcoming Winter Solstice-themed episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and it pretty much confirms that this will be less of a Christmas special and more of a direct continuation of the main plot. Only, you know, with evil Santas and knives falling from the ceiling and stuff. NBD.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale arrives December 14.

Speaking of the birth of godly figures, Starz has announced the return of American Gods (sans original showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, le sigh). According to Vulture, Season Two will premiere on March 10th at 8pm

And finally, today we learned that MTV Studios is prepping a revival of… Celebrity Deathmatch. And Ice Cube will be an exec producer, as well as a lead member of the voice cast. This would mark the second time the series has been revived, which is probably why I had such a strange feeling of déjà vu when I read the headline. And honestly, I can’t tell if we as a culture have truly moved beyond the enjoyment of horrible acts of claymation violence against pop culture icons… or if maybe Celebrity Deathmatch’s biggest hurdle will be that it’s too highbrow for America now.
