The producer’s cut of the Parks and Recreation finale went live today, and it has lots of things we didn’t know we wanted, like the above painting that I now want over my mantle and I don’t even have a mantle.
Here are the most major moments of extended glory:
(at 13:31) A longer version of April and Andy having baby Burt Snakehole Ludgate Karate Dracula Macklin Demon Jack-o-Lantern Dwyer, Jack for short, including a moment where Andy finds out that their baby was actually born on November 1 and threatens Dr. Saperstein into changing it to October 31 because April loves Halloween so much. He does this by reciting the Liam Neeson Taken speech, which means either 10 years later that’s come back around to not being intolerably overdone, or Andy is the kind of guy still quoting Borat. Either makes sense to me.
(at 16:41) Extra Jean-Ralphio like we always hoped and dreamed. Basically, Jean-Ralphio and Mona-Lisa don’t know how to not be suspicious. Also, Jean-Ralphio somehow got himself on Leslie’s family phone plan and has a gym sock fetish.
(19:15) JAMM. First, he gives Leslie the finest gift anyone could ever dream of. Then, we find out his ultimate future is as a hibachi chef in Daytona Beach. Very fitting.
(22:38) An extended cut of Tom’s future where we find out the origin of his Failure book, which was of course originally going to be an action film inspired by 10 Fast 10 Furious: Tokyo Drift 3.
(29:04) We even get the future of Shauna Malwae-Tweep, who finds love with Bobby Newport (Paul Rudd) within five hours of meeting and falling in love. Thanks, gum!
(31:35) More Ron, which is all any of us ever truly wanted.
(43:13) They used pretty much the whole reunion party in the aired episode, but there’s a little extra Garry and a nice Tom and Ann moment.
