I’m assuming if you’re a regular Pajiba reader, you don’t need an explainer on why white women calling the cops on black people just trying to live their lives is a bad thing. But I’m guessing there may be some (white) folks out there who don’t really understand the fuss being made about “BBQ Becky” (the woman who called the cops on a black family that was barbecuing in a public park in Oakland, CA) and “Permit Patty” (the woman who called the cops on a black child selling bottled water without a permit in San Francisco, CA). Luckily, Late Night with Seth Meyers knows just the way to put things in perspective for confused, out of touch white people: by setting the issue to an ’80s pop song!

Here’s Amber Ruffin adapting Rockwell’s song “Somebody’s Watching Me” for our times… as “White Women Watching Me”. WHOA OH AH OH!

It’s like I always say: keytars make everything better.
