ABC has announced its cancellations and renewals today. The Goldbergs, The Rookie, Black-ish, The Conners and A Million Little Things are among those that have been renewed for another season. Meanwhile, Leighton Meester’s Single Parents, Dax Shepard and Lake Bell’s Bless this Mess, and The Goldbergs spin-off, Schooled, have been axed, along with Alison Tolman and Donald Faison’s Emergence.

My twins are going to be crushed by the cancellation of Schooled. On the other hand, their other favorite ABC sitcom, Mixed-ish, will return for another season (they are eight. Cut them some slack). The other good news is that Cobie Smulders’ Stumptown also beat the bubble and will return so that we may all stare into Michael Ealy’s eyes for another year.

It’s unclear whether production logistics were considered in which shows were renewed and canceled, but ABC will be moving ahead with only two new shows: Big Sky from David E. Kelley and Call Your Mother with Kyra Sedgwick.

In case you missed it, aside from The Masked Singer and its Sunday night animated block, Fox is mostly holding new episodes back until midseason. Instead, they pushed a couple of this season’s midseason replacement until the fall and will pair them with L.A.’s Finest, a cop show starring Jessica Alba and Gabriel Union that previously aired on Spectrum. The CW, meanwhile, is holding all of its new programming back until 2021. CBS tentatively plans to have its programming ready for the fall, including a new season of Survivor, which it would pair with a new season of Amazing Race that was supposed to air beginning this week but was pushed to the fall.
