The Flight Attendant on HBO Max at 3:00am ET. Lord, I hope no one was trying to do a “drink along” game with this show because you’d be dead. Kaley Cuoco is really throwing herself into this and it’s been a lot of fun overall but man is it hard to watch her at times. This says “season finale” but that’s standard for HBO and I have not heard any word about another season so I guess we’ll see what happens.
The Stand on CBS All Access at 3:00am ET. Series premiere. The new series of The Stand is here, thankfully timed to the roll-out of vaccines because otherwise, that would NOT be the ideal entertainment for this moment in time.
The CW Special: Dogs of the Year on The CW at 8:00pm ET.
Grey’s Anatomy on ABC at 9:00pm ET. 17th season fall finale. I know I make fun of this show sometimes but I have to say they are seizing their moment right now in a way few other shows are. It’s probably losing them viewers but last week’s episode was explicitly about the fact that COVID-19 is killing Black people at much higher rates than white people. They ended the episode with a card scrolling the names of people who had died of COVID-19. It is the opposite of escapism, but I am also having a sense of cognitive dissonance watching anything that’s meant to take place in the present where people AREN’T wearing masks or talking about the pandemic, so it does fill a void.
The Unicorn on CBS at 9:30pm ET. Second season fall finale.
