"Roseanne Died on Her Way Back to Her Home Planet."
The Conners on ABC at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. I feel bad for the cast and crew, but I have literally no idea who this show is for since the entire reboot of Roseanne was based around Roseanne Barr’s draw with the conservative community. Now she’s gone, and the people who used to watch the show when it was an example of a working class but still quietly progressive and loving family have already abandoned it. Best of luck to all involved.
The Kids Are Alright on ABC at 8:31pm ET. Series premiere. A new sitcom set in 1972, Los Angeles, following an Irish-Catholic family as they “navigate the trials and tribulations of the era.” So, if you read my nostalgia piece, this gives us a data point of 46 years ago, which is well outside the usual range for these types of things.
Black-ish on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Fifth season premiere.
The Rookie on ABC at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Nathan Fillion stars as the oldest rookie on the LAPD, trying to see if you can start over again. Apparently, if you like working on ABC police dramas, you can.
T-Pain’s School of Business on Fuse at 11:00pm ET. Series premiere. I feel this is self-explanatory.
