Arrow on The CW at 8:00pm ET. Seventh season fall finale. TV pickings are getting slim these days.

Monday Night Football: Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks on ESPN at 8:15pm ET.

My Brilliant Friend on HBO at 9:00pm ET. First season finale.

No Sleep ‘Til Christmas on Freeform at 9:00pm ET. Original Telefilm.

Pentatonix: A Not So Silent Night on NBC at 10:00pm ET. One-hour special presentation. Pentatonix have definitely figured out that if you can wedge yourself into a “Christmas Tradition” then you will make money FOREVER. Literally FOREVER, we’re still playing Bing Crosby’s version of Christmas songs and he’s been dead over 40 years now. Mariah Carey and/or her transplanted consciousness will be cashing checks for “All I Want For Christmas Is You” until the heat-death of the universe. It is the most deceptively simple scam in the entertainment business because everyone thinks they can write a new Christmas song but we still end up singing the same dozen songs every year for the most part. The only reason we argue about “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” every year is because people refuse to believe that you can have Christmas without the exact same set of songs every year. So you gotta be the person singing those songs and Pentatonix has, temporarily, succeeded at that.
