Low-budget horror flicks don’t get nearly the attention they used to, although movies like Babadook and It Follows have certainly stemmed the tide and prove that you don’t need to resurrect an old title to still succeed in Hollywood. A movie called Bite, along with what looks like the scariest movie in years, Goodbye Mommy, aim to continue to keep indie horror flicks not only alive, but thriving.
Bite helped build buzz during its Fantasia International Film Festival screening in Montreal earlier this month by passing out novelty barf bags. Turns out, they were actually useful, as reports from the screening suggest that at least one person ended up puking while two passed out and another hit his head on the stairs. An ambulance had to be called in.
What the hell kind of movie would elicit such a reaction? Watch the trailer and find out. Warning: Not for the squeamish.
