That's How You Get a Second Season: 'UnREAL's' Season 2 Teasers Are Here & They're Heavy on the Manipulation

It took most of us a long time to finally jump on the UnREAL train. I was shamefully late to that party, myself. Between the subject matter (reality TV) and the network (Lifetime), it was hard to believe that the show could possibly be as good as people were saying it was.

And then it was even better.

All of that is to say that if you’re still lagging, still refusing to believe that a Lifetime show about the behind-the-scenes mayhem of a Bachelor-type show could be a bleak-as-hell dramedy rivaling anything on HBO or any other acclaimed network, get with it, and quick. Because Lifetime just released a trailer for season two and a bunch of quick, fantastic teasers.

First, the main teaser trailer introduces us to our new suitor, played by Agents of SHIELD’s B.J. Britt (TRIPLETT!!). The issue of interracial relationships on the types of dating shows that inspired UnREAL is a messy, mostly horrible one, as we saw when the show touched on it in season one.

Next up are three quick teasers, which show us three new contestants, Chantal, Tiffany, and Yael. More to the point, though, it gives us a look at the level of manipulation Rachel and Quinn are capable of. Actually, scrap “capable of.” More like “thrive on,” or possibly “need to exist.”

June 6th can’t come soon enough.
