A trailer for the long-anticipated revival of The X-Files debuted last night during Gotham, and it managed to be exciting despite saying absolutely nothing about the new series. Basically, it’s a series of grim pronouncements like, “You’ve never been in more danger,” and “This is my life,” and “You’re on dangerous ground,” and “I know what I’m doing!”

The best pronouncement, however, comes at the end, because it’s being delivered by the Cigarette Smoking Man. “We have a small problem.”

What is the problem? We’ll have to wait until January to find out.
