Development, casting, and production on The Hitman’s Bodyguard somehow escaped our notice around here, which is surprising since little about Ryan Reynolds ever escapes our notice. But the trailer? It is brilliant. Hilarious. It’s Ryan Reynolds making wisecracks and Sam Jackson yelling “motherfucker” while blowing up shit and killing people, which is the way it should always be, and when Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” kicks up, we fell in love.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard comes from director Patrick Hughes (Red Hill, Expendables 3) and screenwriter Tom O’Connor. It also stars Salma Hayek, Elodie Yung, and Gary Oldman. It opens in August.
