'The Assignment' Trailer for Those Who Thought 'John Wick' Was Just Too Awesome

If you watched John Wick and thought to yourself, “Man, that was awesome, but maybe a little too awesome for my taste,” have we got a movie for you. The Assignment is a shitty knock-off starring Michelle Rodriguez — who is great — as a hitman, and Sigourney Weaver as the villain. Redbox superstar Anthony Paglia also stars along with Tony Shalhoub. If you watch the trailer and briefly also believe that Leelee Sobieski — who disappeared from Hollywood about 5 years ago — is playing the woman that Rodriguez is in love with, I’m sorry to let you down. That’s actually Caitlin Gerard.

The Assignment comes from Walter Hill — yes, that Walter Hill, the director of The Warriors. The movie is formerly known as Tomboy, a Revenger’s Tale and as IMDB notes, it is not a remake of Johnny Handsome.
