M. Night Shyamalan's Latest Looks Intriguing, Potentially Disastrous

Here’s the trailer for Split, the latest from M. Night Shyamalan, who reversed the downward trend of his career with his last film, the surprisingly good The Visit. Split features James McAvoy as a man with 23 distinct personalities, who kidnaps three women and seems to use all of those personalities to torment them.

It looks intriguing, but I’ve seen John Cusack’s Identity — a great film with one of the worst endings I have ever seen — and I am wary of the potentially disastrous combination of twist endings and multiple personalities.

That said, it does look like it could be a very fun performance from James McAvoy.
