Tessa Thompson, Lakeith Stanfield, Armie Hammer, Terry Crews. Is This Movie Made Just For Pajiba?

A little while back, in her roundup of the most exciting movies to hit Sundance, Tori mentioned a little upcoming feature called Sorry To Bother You, from musician-turned-director Boots Riley. She rightfully pointed out that just based on the cast alone it sounds like someone basically made ‘Pajiba 10: The Movie.’ Because Tessa Thompson, Lakeith Stanfield, Armie Hammer, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, Steven Yeun, Danny Glover? That is what you call one stacked fucking ensemble.

The buzz about the movie—a searing surrealist satire—has been overwhelmingly positive, and the new trailer for it confirms the levels of hype that we should all be at for this at roughly about an 8 or a 9 out of 10. Check it out:

Sorry, did I say an 8 or 9? Just a reminder of who Boots Riley is, from his wiki:

Most of his works, although often about a personal experience (love, sex, broken-down cars, getting drunk, etc.), are tied to a radical class analysis of the current system and or situation. Some of his songs call for the overthrow of the ruling class by the working class.

Boots Riley was born in 1971 into a family of radical organizers in Chicago. The family later moved to Detroit and then to Oakland by the time he was 6. His interest in politics began at a young age, inspiring him to join the radical Progressive Labor Party and the International Committee Against Racism at the age of 14.

Make that an 11.
