Nicolas Cage’s newest horror/supernatural thriller Pay the Ghost has all of the spooky things people want in a September release. There’s a small child in a pirate costume, Cage in a cowboy outfit and a Fluff Level 5 Dad Wig, and mysterious circumstances surrounding disappearances on Halloween.
It’s perfection, is what I’m saying.
Cage plays a father who does something involving books, working late, and sweater vests. He’s married to Sarah Wayne Callies and the two have a son named Charlie. Cage takes his camcorder-toting kid to a carnival on Halloween night and promptly loses the damn kid. The kid probably ran away because he didn’t have an iPhone, DAD.
The trailer then gives us gems like “Did you know that more children who disappear on Halloween don’t ever come back?” and “There is something different out there and it is taking children!”
September 25th is next Friday, so we don’t have long to prepare. Meet me at the theater by the Red Robin at 8 pm. I’ll be wearing the Nic Cage in Wicker Man cosplay and punching women in the goddamn face.
