Back in the day, legendary (ahem) London gangsters, and twin brothers, Ronnie and Reggie Kray ruled the streets with a combination of violence and madness. Though (also brothers) Martin and Gary Kemp (aka Spandau Ballet) already starred in a pretty decent film about the Krays, writer/director Brian Helgeland (42, A Knight’s Tale, Mystic River, L.A. Confidential) thought he’d give us a new take on the story, starring Tom Hardy. But wait; as far as we know there’s only one Tom Hardy, right? (Right.) So what that means is, Tom Hardy will play against himself, one brother trying to control his other psychotic brother, and holy — if anyone is bananas enough to try this, it’s Tom Hardy, right? (Right. See Bronson) We’ve already seen a couple of photos, but here’s a look at Tom(s) in action — and well, it’s pretty mind-blowing.
This might actually be the perfect role for Hardy — dual personalities, great dialogue, and high violence. Last of the famous, international playboys, indeed. I’m all in.
Legend also stars Emily Browning, Colin Morgan, David Thewlis, Chazz Palminteri, Taron Egerton and Emily Fitzgerald.
