Honchos: Below we got the trailer for Law Abiding Citizen, which stars Gerard Butler (take off your shirt!), whose family is killed up by some bad folk. The D.A. (Jamie Foxx) cuts a deal with the sumbitches, which apparently is not the maximum sentence. So, Gerard Butler’s character gets biblical with the legal system, by which I mean he infects the movie with a terrible American accent and wreaks S star star T on a few lawyers.
It doesn’t look like a good movie, but it does look fun in a scene-chewing, cathartic, kill the legal bureaucrats kind of way. Plus, it allows Gerard Butler to dance with explosions and Jamie Foxx to do what he does best: Act poorly, but put on a serious enough expression to dupe a few people into believing he deserved that goddamn Oscar. Fuckity.
F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) directs. The movie comes out on October 16th, the same weekend as The Road, Step Father and Where the Wild Things Are because, apparently, Overture films doesn’t want anyone to see it.
