Joss Whedon's Cabin in the Woods is Real! There's Even a Trailer and Everything

Joss Whedon’s Cabin in the Woods has been pushed back so many times now that I was beginning to wonder if it was even real, like it was a fever dream conjured up by masochistic studio executives to drive Whedonites into a bloodlust frenzy. But it’s real, and the movie — directed by Drew Goddard, the screenwriter behind Cloverfield — actually looks more Cloverfield than Buffy. I’m not sure what I was expecting: An intimate Evil Dead homage that worked in its own right, I guess. That’s not what this trailer portends: It portends sci-fi shenanigans and a Cloverfield monster out in the woods.

I dunno, folks. In Whedon we trust and all, but when one of Abrams lackeys gets involved, ALL BETS ARE OFF.

Check out the trailer.
