This shouldn’t be exciting. Nigh on a decade after one of the most neat and satisfying action trilogies of modern times concluded, we are to be served up another entry in the saga of everyone’s favourite amnesiac spy/assassin/all around badass operative, Jason Bourne.
It shouldn’t be exciting. Reheating some previously unseen scraps from last month’s ostensibly finished meal.
It shouldn’t be.
And yet, Matt Damon, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel, Riz Ahmed, and, continuing her not-as-yet-unwelcome campaign of starring in everything, Alicia Vikander?
I’m in. I can’t help but be in.
Returning also on directing duties, the king of shaky cam. Now, I’m in the minority of those who preferred Doug Liman’s work on the first Bourne movie to Paul Greengrass’ on the latter two (because Doug Liman is awesome), but still, this is another good omen.
What say, you, Pajibans? Are we excited? Or are we
whatever the opposite of that is Bourne Legacy-ed?
Jason Bourne is out in the U.S. on July 29th.
