Zombie Nazis? Awesome. Zombie Babies? Creepy.

Here’s a great way to start your Wednesday morning: The trailer for Grace. Such a nice sounding name, isn’t it?

Well, it’s about a pregnant woman has is involved in an accident and her baby dies. However, she decided to bring the baby to term anyway. Miraculously, when she delivers, the baby is alive. Only she realizes later that the baby has a thirst for blood. It’s like a zombie baby or something.

I’ve actually had two chances to see Grace at film festivals, and I’ve turned both opportunities down. I’m not a particularly squeamish person, and I’m even a big fan of good creepy-kid movies. But evil baby movies? I’m not there, yet. The marketing folks behind Grace also got, perhaps, one of the biggest breaks when, during a screening at Sundance, someone apparently fainted. It happens at Sundance — you spend all day standing in line, or sitting in a movie, and sometimes, food is hard to come by. Or it could’ve been that Grace actually freaked the bizzonkers out of this person. Either way: Good for the indie horror.

It’s also gotten pretty good reviews. Still not going to see it, though. I think I’ll leave this one to Prisco.
