I know a lot of us have mixed feelings about the current trend of taking movies and making series out of them. Movies set out to tell one story, series generally try to take a group of characters and build stories with them. Sometimes you can make that work, but sometimes you just end up with a lot of contrived plot points designed to keep things from reaching the natural conclusion that the movie had.
That doesn’t look to be a problem with the new Ash vs. Evil Dead series on Starz:
That’s a lot of gloriously goofy gore, so it’s good that they’ll have some time to spread it out a bit. It also gives them time to really let us know what Lucy Lawless is up to because holy shit you guys that was Lucy Lawless and they’re just going to only give us that one line?!? And I guess explore the in-world mythology but I think most of us will be fine with leaving some of that out as long as we get more scenes like this:
Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres on Starz this Halloween. Because what you really needed was another premium channel to pay for, right?
