Christopher Nolan is one of only a handful of directors who studios trust to make original films with blockbuster budgets and he will return next year with Dunkirk, a World War II film about the massive evacuation of over 300,000 Allied troops from the French seaport in 1940. Nolan wrote and directed the film, which will star newcomer Fionn Whitehead, as well as Nolan regulars Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy, Spielberg regular Mark Rylance, and Kenneth Branagh. Also, Harry Styles, because he’s Christopher Nolan and he can do what he wants.
Here’s the first teaser trailer:
The film is set for release on July 21, 2017.
