Here we are with the third Clash of the Titans trailer. If they release any more trailers, they might as well just not bother releasing the film. Anyway, this one does have a good bit of new stuff in it — a little more story beyond the giant scorpions and Kraken that looks like it came directly out of one of the God of War games. It still features lots of quick cuts and glimpses of neato monsters like Medusa, it still has the same song by The Used (which is actually a much better song sans vocals), synchronized with the scorpion attacks, and it still has Sam Worthington looking dirty and grim and pretty badass.
It also features more Liam Neeson as Zeus and a bit of Ralph Fiennes as Hades, which is never a bad thing. Neeson looks like he’s having a good time getting his ham on, Fiennes looks suitably big and scary, and you even get a bit of the delectable Gemma Arterton as Io and
Gwen Raiden Alexa Davalos as Andromeda.
What will be perhaps most interesting is how audiences handle having two Greek mythology-based films come out in back-to-back months. The cumbersomely titled Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief comes out this month, and Titans in March. They both look like they could be great fun. They both also look like they could be incredibly stupid. Whatever, I’m really just looking forward to a fantasy/action movie that doesn’t take itself so fucking seriously (I’m looking at you, Avatar).
