If you saw Logan in theaters already (and if not, you should), then you were most likely treated to an extremely irreverent opening short featuring everybody’s other favorite R-rated mutant, Deadpool. Now that Ryan Reynolds has graciously made the footage available online, we can all relive the magic together on our computer screens without shelling out $15 to see the movie again! Yay!
But be warned: keep an eye out for what is quite possibly the weirdest Easter Egg I’ve ever seen in a movie trailer when you watch.
Did you catch it? No, not the graffiti on the phone booth that teases Nathan Summers, AKA Cable, who we already knew was on the way:
Nor was it the Stan Lee cameo, which inexplicably did not appear in the Logan version for some reason (unless I blacked out for 10 seconds and missed it):
And I’m definitely not talking about the long summary of Old Man And The Sea that ended the clip because I honestly don’t know what to make of that.
No, I’m talking about THIS gorram nonsense behind Deadpool right over here.
Is that… a Firefly poster? Really?
Why???? Is it because Ryan Reynolds is super tight with Nathan Fillion? Is it because he’s been rumored to be on the short lists for Cable? Is it because Fox is thinking about rebooting the series and Reynolds can’t help but make fun of them for it? Does he just wanna highlight another franchise about a bunch of misfit weirdos? What is the reasoning here???
Reynolds. I’m begging you. We need answers, here.
