Next spring, Disney will be telling us a tale as old as time again with the live-action Beauty and the Beast starring affable English actors Emma Watson and Dan Stevens. But Christophe Gans’ version has beat them to the chase, coming to the US this fall. Boasting Blue Is The Warmest Color’s Léa Seydoux and Black Swan’s Vincent Cassel, this French-language adaptation ditches the polite English romance in favor or sensuality and savagery.

Beauty and the Beast opens September 23rd.
