Will Arnett Is Making Sure You'll Never See a Shortage of Will Arnett on Netflix
Will Arnett has had a bang-up year, with some big movies, some big announcements of movies, and the creation of his own production company. But for everything else he has going on, Netflix seems determined to plant their flag and claim him for their very own. First, they picked up Arrested Development (with talks of continuing that run even further), then they brought him on board for BoJack Horseman. Now they’ve picked up Arnett’s own show, Flaked, which he’ll write (along with The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret’s Mark Chappell), produce, and star in. Here’s a synopsis:
Set in the insular world of Venice, Calif., it’s the serio-comic story of a self-appointed “guru,” Chip, who falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel.Netflix has picked the series up for eight episodes. At this point, they just need to build Arnett an apartment attached to their studios. Or at the very least, set up a cot for him in their basement.
