World, you know Laura Linney.

Laura Linney is an impressive actress. From The Big C to Mystic River to John Adams (to, yes, Love Actually— lay off!), she’s has three Oscar nominations, three Tony nomination, she’s won four Emmys, and a boatload of other awards. So why— someone please tell me why— has Linney signed on to play an as of yet unknown role opposite these guys?

And yes, I know most of you think you know the answer:

But there are better ways to go about that than this. This feels like a misstep. And I think we need an intervention. But Laura Linney isn’t going to listen to us. Who are we to her? Nobody. No, I think the best person to talk some sense into Laura Linney… is Laura Linney.

See, I imagine that if Laura Linney could see this choice objectively, she would be mad at Laura Linney for accepting it.

No, I mean like REALLY mad.

I mean, Laura Linney, your career GPS must be off. This was not the turn you were supposed to take.

Is it an attempt to stay relevant? Like, with the youths? Because let me tell you— no, sorry, let you tell you— you may be more known by older audiences, but that does not mean you are not still super cool and fine as hell.

So please, don’t do this movie. It can’t be worth it.

Okay, Laura Linney? Did you convince you?
