Kanye West is a noted fan of President Donald Trump. They’ve shared photo ops. He’s stumped for Trump on Twitter. And—of course—West has been proudly wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, sometimes while proclaiming we should repeal the constitutional amendment that outlaws slavery, which he has previously declared was “a choice.” But that’s not all.
West dropped by the Fader offices last week ahead of his appearance on Saturday Night Live. SPIN reports there he praised Trump and Infowars’ Alex Jones as “matrix-breakers,” declared that after plastic surgery “a woman’s pussy count goes back to zero,” (whatever that means), and admitted he wished Louis C.K. was hosting the SNL season opener. West said all of this while wearing his MAGA hat and a Colin Kaepernick shirt. And West defended his sporting of the former, saying, “I redesigned it. I changed the brim. I mean I changed the shape right here and I put positive energy into the hat.”
Here’s video of that bit:

Elsewhere, West suggested to TMZ he could be the peacemaker, bringing Kaepernick to Trump’s White House.

He also modified his 13th amendment statement. According to Rolling Stone, “Abolish was the wrong language,” he explained. “I misspoke by saying abolish. Amend is the right language… What’s beautiful about our Constitution is we can amend it, right?” In his pivot, West says he wasn’t suggesting slavery be made legal, but that the portion of the amendment that allows imprisoned Americans to be used as slave labor should be cut.
Here’s West explaining that. (But maybe watch Ava DuVernay’s doc 13th instead. It’s on Netflix.)
In other news: It’s only Tuesday.
