Why Is It Taking So Long for Dominic Cooper to Finish His 'Preacher' Deal?
Back in mid-March, word leaked that Howard Stark himself, Dominic Cooper was the front-runner to play Jesse Custer in the AMC adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Preacher. Most of us thought that was damned good news, and while we’ve been awaiting confirmation, Ruth Negga was cast as Tulip O’Hare,
Joe Gilgun as Cassidy,
and Ian Colletti as Arseface.
Additionally, this past week saw another addition; Constantine and True Blood’s Lucy Griffiths signed on to play “no-nonsense, single mother of three,” Emily Woodrow, who’s also a bookkeeper, waitress, the church organist, and Jesse’s loyal right hand (uh, does she have any time to breathe?). Reports also say she’ll have a little crush on Jesse.
It’s supposed to be a done deal so why oh why haven’t we gotten the final word on Cooper yet? Or was Rogen’s March 31’st tweet the “unofficial” confirmation, and it’s all just down to having time to sign the dotted line?
And now we have our Jesse Custer…— Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) April 1, 2015
Maybe Cooper’s girlfriend can give his writing hand a little shove?
Wha? How come nobody told me about this?!
