Let’s not make too big of a deal out of this just yet, but Netflix has struck an agreement with three cable companies that I have never heard of — RCN, Grande Communications and Atlantic Broadband — to become a channel on their cable services. You will still need to be a subscriber to Netflix in order to gain the Netflix channel, and it will require a specific cable-provided DVR. But, if you are one of the 9 people who get cable from one of those providers, you will be able to watch Netflix on the bigger small screen without hooking up your laptop, PC, X-box, Chromecast device, etc. to your television.
What might be an advantage of having Netflix go through your cable? One less remote, I guess? It makes it slightly easier to watch Netflix. I’m not sure, but I’m guessing old people are going to love it.
