I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is the reason you clicked: Ghostbusters is celebrating its 30th anniversary by returning to theaters this August 29th. I can see this masterpiece on the big screen! I can take my kid! This could only get better if I got a giant, theater-sized Ecto Cooler with my ticket!
It’s also the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters II, so that will be available on Blu-ray for the very first time in the history of EVER! If you have diamond shoes that are too tight and a wallet too small for all of your money, you can buy the collector’s edition that features both films on Blu-ray and a sweet Slimer figurine.
Now for what I consider to be bad news. Forrest Gump (which I initially typed as Forrest Hump), is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a run in theaters. In IMAX. Why would you want to see this in IMAX? Did I forget the section of the movie where Forrest rolls out with Transformers or joins Godzilla’s gang? Do we really need to see this on an IMAX screen??
