Well, That New 'X-Men Apocalypse' Poster Looks Sadly Familiar

Fox has released the poster for the new X-Men movie, X-Men Apocalypse.

Professor X is clearly trying to reassure us all that this movie is not going to be as terrible as the trailer looks.

Also, we’re not saying it looks familiar…

..but it looks familiar.

How has this weird, stilted style of ensemble posters survived? Haven’t our graphic art abilities progressed beyond “collection of vaguely plastic looking people staring with varying levels of concern in different directions with badly done perspective”? It’s like they’re playing overdone trope chicken with the people who put a series of blurting boom noises from tubas and shit in their trailers to emphasize that shit is getting real. You know things are getting serious when it sounds like an entire lower brass section is experiencing very coordinated intestinal distress.

What we’re saying is, this poster is the ultimate in been there, done that.
Basically, if you’re gonna do it, hire Drew Struzan or GTFO.
