During its TCA Winter Press Tour today, NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt announced Hannibal will return this summer. Not even a specific date; just “summer.”

“It’s a show we love, it’s critically acclaimed, we love it. And we also love summer.”

Greenblatt clarified that the move will not affect the series’ renewal outlook.

“Summer doesn’t affect the future of the seasons. Deal-wise, it’s a great business deal for us, even at a low rating, which is why it’s been for as long as it has been.”

Well, okay, but we’re still pissed.
