Turns Out that Toxic, Reality Network Shitshow, TLC, Will Actually Draw the Line Somewhere

Reality-show network TLC — which has no problem exploiting the obese (My 600 Pound Life), the mentally ill (Hoarding: Buried Alive, My Strange Addiction, My Crazy Obsession), divorce and custody battles (Jon and Kate Plus 8, Kate Plus 8), virgins (Virgin Diaries), polygamists (Sister Wives) and beauty pageants for fucking children (Toddlers & Tiaras) — has actually found a line that it will not cross: Child molestation.

TLC has finally, mercifully cancelled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after it was alleged that Honey Boo Boo’s mother, Mama June, was dating a known pedophile. Of course, Mama June’s other daughter, Pumpkin, defending Mama June, who denies dating 53-year-old Mark McDaniel, convicted in 2004 of molesting an 8 year old (who was apparently a family member).

And yes: Those are their names.

TLC didn’t believe Mama June, however, and cancelled the series, releasing the following statement, which is FUCKING rich:

“TLC has cancelled the series HERE COMES HONEY BOO BOO and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

Good for you, TLC. Just one minor little thing: If you really gave a shit about the health and welfare of these children, you never would’ve aired the goddamn show in the first place. You wouldn’t have let that heinous, white-trash beast pimp her child for the last three years, subjecting a kid to the judgement and scrutiny of the nation, when she had no fucking chance with Mama June as a mother.

Now, of course, this nine-year-old girl is messed up for life, and while that’s not entirely TLC’s fault — she never really had a chance with that family —- cancelling the show, taking away the family’s income source, and the cameras (which might have kept the child molester at bay) is only going to exacerbate the problem.

If you really gave a shit about the health and welfare of those kids, you’d give them a lifetime’s worth of free counseling and a modest trust fund that they could only receive by attending college, and then you’d fucking find a way to have them removed from Mama June because you do not bring child molesters into your fucking homes.
