Tom Hardy and Formula One racecar driver, Mika Salo, will be featured in the Discovery Channel’s Driven to Extremes, airing on March 13th. What is they’re going to do, you ask? Oh, not much: Just camp out overnight in the COLDEST PLACE ON EARTH. Why would anyone want to spend the night outside where temperatures are 60 below zero, I have no idea. But as someone who lives in Maine, where it gets pretty goddamn cold, I’ll admit I’d make it about 45 seconds before I simply blew my f**king brains out. There are not enough layers to deal with the kind of temperatures where bubbles freeze, or where steaming hot water immediately turns to snow, where exposed fingers would snap off in a matter of minutes.
Check out the two trailers for the special, where Tom Hardy cracks wise, changes a tire, and adorably blows bubbles. It’s looks weirdly intriguing, and I have even more respect for Hardy’s manliness.
My one quibble: Why would they introduce this poor dog to those elements?
