This Looks Like the Best Movie Of October, and Maybe the Rest of 2014

Yesterday, we spoke of Miles Teller, who had to walk back some unkind comments he made about the Divergent this week while he was out promoting a movie called Whiplash. If anything good came out of those comments (besides our collective respect for Miles Teller for being honest), it was the attention he drew to that indie flick, Whiplash.

I watched the trailer last night. And then I watched it again. And then I may have watched it again. Then I picked up my phone, and I said to Siri, “Remind me, on October 10th, to go see Whiplash, and to step on the neck of any motherfucker who stands in my way.” Siri responded with some quote from Kubrick’s 2001 and I hid under my bed from my phone for the rest of the night.

But after I managed to alert the authorities (using a walkie-talkie and Morse code), who came to my home and destroyed my iPhone, I decided to share with the rest of you the trailer for what could be the best movie of October (sorry, Gone Girl) and quite possibly the rest of the year (sorry, Reese Witherspoon’s blatantly phony Oscar-grab season).

“There are no two words in the English language more harmful than “‘good job.’” That is a chilling “f*ck you” to the stereotypical Millennial mindset, isn’t it? Boyhood may have found some competition for best movie of 2014.
