Billed as an alternative history to WWII, Jackboots on Whitehall employs new animation techniques with animatronic puppets voiced by well-known actors (including Ewan McGregor, Timothy Spall, Tom Wilkinson and Alan Cumming). McGregor’s character dreams of leaving his home for an exciting life in the military. His chance arrives when the Nazis make a plan to attack England and the British army is stuck in Dunkirk, leaving the country undefended. The film will open two festivals in September and November and was just picked up by Sony UK. Hopefully it won’t take too long to hit the US because it looks like a riot. The trailer describes Jackboots on Whitehall as a cross between Team America and Inglourious Basterds and that ought to be enough to attract 73.5 percent of Pajibans (The rest of us are in Barbie-world frying other fish).

This could be even better than Sharktopus.
