'The Walking Dead' Adds Some Key Gorgeousness to Its Sixth Season
***Spoiler Warning: This casting announcement and description below contain minorly Spoileriffic comic information.
The Walking Dead, returns to AMC with its sixth outing this October, and they’ve just made their first new casting announcement. Corey Hawkins (Non-Stop, Straight Outta Compton) has joined as comic character Heath, an Alexandria resident and the safe-zone’s supply runner. According to the comic wiki, Glenn and Heath will team up on supply runs, and Heath is boyfriend to the zone’s doctor, Denise Cloyd (not cast).
In other non-comic related casting news, there’ll also be two more additions (not yet cast):
Delvin, a “…twentysomething African-American cynic is left so dumbfounded by displays of stupidity that it’s nearly impossible for him to admit that he thinks, down deep, people are — or at least can be — decent.”
“Cynical and sarcastic.”
and Tucker, “a hardworker tough guy who values fairness.”
Y’all, that’s two more African American characters — plus Lennie James’ Morgan, who’s hopefully going to be at least recurring, if not a series regular. For those still complaining about the series killing off all the black men, it looks like season 6 will at least start out with a pretty diverse cast. (But, Father Gabriel, we’ve got our eye on you for an early departure…)
