***Spoiler Warning: Some new casting information was gleaned because of paparazzi photos, not officially announced information, and therefore should be considered spoileriffic. Consider whether you want casting information that David Lynch and company may not have planned to release.***
There are no words to describe my joy at this moment. If I was already elated over David Lynch bringing back Twin Peaks — it could have been him, Kyle MacLachlan, a cuppa joe and some funky music and I’d have been happy as a clam — with this news, I’m bouncing off the walls. After finally working things out it’s not just MacLachlan and Lynch and while the cast was already shaping up weirderiffically, it’s expanding in wonderful ways we couldn’t have predicted. In other words, YES, YES, YES. Here’s the cast so far, along with some really nifty updates.
Sherilyn Fenn (reprising her role as Audrey Horne)
Dana Ashbrook (reprising his role as Bobby Brooks)
Sheryl Lee (reprising her role as Laura Palmer)
Kimmy Robertson (reprising her role as Lucy Moran)
Nicely eclectic group; now let’s say you bring on a single, white female (or two)?
Here’s the ***Spoilery part*** Deadline says a certain favorite of mine was captured in paparazzi photos of a nighttime scene in the Mojave desert, filming with Kyle MacLachlan:
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Jennifer Jason Leigh is bringing her special brand of darkness to Lynchland.
And it doesn’t stop there; the report says Lynch is also trying to recruit Naomi Watts, who became big news here after she killed it (my favorite role of hers) in Mulholland Drive.
That’d be a pretty cool move, since she’d be hanging around Showtime, where her husband Liev Schreiber heads up Ray Donovan. If both Watts and JJL land at Twin Peaks together, I think my brain will explode from the awesomeness.
Also rumored to be making returns are Mädchen Amick, Robert Forster, Lara Flynn Boyle, Ray Wise, Richard Beymer, Piper Laurie, Everett McGill, Wendy Robie and Russ Tamblyn.
“I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”
